Albania: EUR 4 billion hydropower plant deal signed with Swiss consortium

Albania's government Thursday signed a 4-billion- euro (5.35-billion-dollar) deal with Swiss consortium Rudana Investment Group AG for construction of hydropower plants and a refinery in the next four years reports Earth Times.

Balkans.com reported in February that 'Rudana Investment Group of Switzerland is interested in investing in Albania's infrastructure, ports, energy and telecommunications, and also plans to open a branch of its investment bank in the Balkan country."

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sali Berisha attended on Thursday, the opening of business fair German-Austrian-Swiss, which is the third fair runs Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Albania. Attending the ceremony were ambassadors Austrian, German and Swiss Deputy, union representatives and leading Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Albania, Albanian and foreign businessmen, etc..

Prime Minister singled out companies and investment from Germany, Austria and Switzerland for their success and performance.
